Haven of Hope Ministries is a local branch of The Salvation Army, an international Christian organization which began its work in Canada in 1882. (See About The Salvation Army for more information.)
Haven of Hope strives to accomplish its purpose of “Giving Hope – Transforming Lives” through its:
Community Church – Our Church follows mainstream Christian beliefs and welcomes everyone. We are mission-minded and try to share our love of God in practical ways
Community Services – Our staff, church members and volunteers offer assistance with emergency food and clothing, lifestyle programs and counselling, school feeding programs, Christmas assistance and more. The assistance is needs-based, offered without discrimination, and focused on restoring hope and dignity to the marginalized and overlooked in the community.
Haven of Hope also has close ties to the other Salvation Army services in Regina, including the provision of shelter, health care and emergency disaster services. (See About The Salvation Army: Other Regina Services.)
In April 2014, a 5-year strategic plan for Regina was released by The Salvation Army. This plan describes the range of services provided in the city and the goals through to 2018. (http://www.salvationarmy.ca/prairie/files/2014/05/serving_the_city.pdf)
