A $40 donation will provide 1 student with a backpack full of supplies.

Who: low-income families who would otherwise be unable to afford school supplies for their children
How: You can register online by clicking the Register Online button above. 
When: Registration will open on August 1, 2024 and will close when we reach capacity
What: You will need to have valid ID for yourself and each school child receiving a backpack. 

Empowering Education: The Salvation Army’s Backpacks for Kids Program

As the summer days dwindle and the anticipation of a new school year begins, children’s minds are filled with thoughts of new teachers, potential friends, and the excitement of recess games. Yet, for many children in Regina, these happy thoughts are overshadowed by worries about not having the essential supplies they need for school. At The Salvation Army, we believe that no child should start the school year unprepared. That’s why our Backpacks for Kids program is here to ensure every child has the tools they need to succeed.

A Helping Hand for Families in Need

The Backpack for Kids program is dedicated to supporting low-income families with children from Kindergarten to Grade 12. Each child registered in our program receives a brand-new backpack filled with grade-appropriate school supplies. This initiative not only equips children with the basics for their educational journey but also alleviates the financial burden on families struggling to make ends meet.

Registration for the program opens August 1, 2024 online. Space is limited.
